Surge Protection

Every day, destructive electrical spikes and surges – caused by lightning or industrial and construction accidents involving utility poles – pass through the electrical lines and into your home. Once inside, these high-voltage spikes can cause damage to electronics found in many household products like home entertainment centers, PCs, garage door openers, microwave ovens, and more. Anything you own with a microchip is susceptible to damage.

Preventing High-Voltage Spikes:

The Home Guard from EFI prevents external, high-voltage spikes and surges from entering your home. The Home Guard is placed at the electrical service entrance directly between the power coming to your home and the meter itself. There is no better place to put whole-house surge suspension.

The Home Guard is designed to isolate your home from external events that affect power quality. It has been tested under the most rigorous conditions – even exposed to currents comparable to direct lightning (65,000 Amps.) The Home Guard consistently reduces potentially damaging voltage spikes to "safe" levels.

Furthermore, the Home Guard is the perfect complement to any plugstrip or wallmount surge suppressor that may be protecting you PC, VCR, or TV. All EFI surge suppressors are specifically designed to work in harmony with each other, resulting in the highest level of protection.

PowerTracker Line of Surge Protection Products:

Protection:

The PowerTracker product line provides you with an extensive array of surge protection solutions. Three levels (Standard, Advanced, Maximum) of protection are available in the plugstrip series. The wallmount series provides two levels of protection are available to meet specific application needs.

TLS/CATV/DSS Protection:

PowerTracker advanced plugstrip and wallmount products are available with built-in TLS (telephone line suppression). CATV (cable TV suppression), and CATV/DSS protection. If additional or supplemental data line protection is needed, EFI offers modules for telephone and CATV protection.

Sine Wave Tracking:

EFI’s patented Sine Wave Tracker technology provides unparalleled protection against surges by providing a remarkably tight let-through (clamping) voltage envelops around the power line sine wave.

Let-Through Voltage:

Let-Through voltage is an excellent way to compare surge protection products. A "lower" let-through voltage provides better performance and provides more protection for your connected equipment.

EMI/RFI Noise Filtration:

Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) and Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) are disruptions on the smooth AC power line sine wave. Lightning, generators, radio transmitters, or even household appliances can cause this noise on the power line. This noise shows up as glitches or errors on computer systems, or "snow" on a TV. PowerTracker models eliminate up to 99.99% of EMI/RFI noise.

Thermal Fuse:

The thermal fuse offers fail-safe shutoff that safely stops power in the event of a sustained overvoltage or suppressor failure. Many competitor’s products do not offer this feature, which means destructive surges will still pass through their suppressor and damage equipment after their products have failed.

Lifetime Product Warranty:

EFI will replace PowerTracker products damaged by an electrical surge or lightning. PowerTracker products include a lifetime parts and labor warranty.

Lifetime Connected Equipment Warranty:

EFI wall repair or replace properly connected equipment damaged by electricity surges or lightning for a lifetime of the EFI product. The values of the limited connected equipment warranties are:

PowerTracker Standard -- $2,500;

PowerTracker Advanced -- $10,000;

PowerTracker Maximum -- $25,000;

PowerTracker Specialty Products -- $25,000.
