What to do in an
Emergency
POWER OUTAGES
Outages are often caused by broken power lines, damaged transformers or blown transformer fuses. We make every attempt to restore service as soon as possible by dispatching crews to the source of the problem.
If you are unable to get through using the above phone number after regular business hours, please report your outage to the Modoc County Sheriff's office at 530/233-4416.
If your power is off, check the fuses or circuit breakers in your home. If everything appears to be in order, check with your neighbors to see if their electricity is off. If you can't solve the problem, please call our office to report the outage. When calling, provide your name, address, and phone number, plus any information you have which will help us locate and correct the problem, such as, account number, or meter number. Then turn off all large appliances. Except in the case of large-scale outages we will attempt to call back to confirm that your power has been restored.
INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE
SVEC attempts to provide continuous, uninterrupted electric service; but cannot and will not guarantee such service, and shall not be liable for injury, loss, or damage resulting from any failure or curtailment of electric service beyond our control.
